Guildford in Bloom aims to encourage schools to create a garden and involve all the children in maintaining and caring for the plot.  We provide support and help to grow flowers for pollinators and vegetables and fruit to eat.

Guildford in Bloom has a dedicated SchoolsTeam who work with local schools to encourage teachers to use the garden in the curriculum and teach our future gardeners about caring for wildlife and where food comes from.

Get Kids Gardening

Here at Guildford in Bloom we also aim to encourage children and families to get gardening together - whether the children have a dedicated plot in the garden, or a pot on a windowsill - either way they will learn about plants and how to grow their own food.

We also aim to encourage children of all ages to learn about our garden wildlife and create protective habitats to care for bees and pollinators, bugs, birds and hedgehogs.

In addition we know that being outdoors in the garden is good for children's physical health and mental wellbeing.

But for rainy days you might like to download one of our quiz or colouring sheets - or even make a mini Bug Hotel - you can download here:

Check out our downloads to keep the kids entertained.  We have colouring sheets, quizzes and games as well as craft activities
